Welcome to
McCowan Stables Riding Academy! We strive to provide students with the
tools they need to be successful in and out of the saddle.
McCowan Stables has a group of well schooled horses for students to
learn to ride. We offer riding lessons, leasing, coaching, boarding,
training and clinics. Our program is suited to students who are looking
to compete and become well rounded equestrians. Although we teach
traditions of the sport, we provide a family oriented environment where
students learn to rely on their peers for help and direction. We make
sure that all students are involved in the process of learning. Lessons
focus on individual needs and we always take the time to help a student
improve their skills.
McCowan Stables has moved to a larger location as of May 1st 2010!! Our
new location is 467381 Grey Road 31 Feversham, ON N0C 1C0. Our new
location boasts: 22 stall restored bank barn, large indoor arena with
fully heated viewing lounge for parents, 2 sand rings, 2 grass rings
and cross country course.
Our new location is 25 minutes from Collingwood, 15 minutes from
Thornbury and 10 minutes from Flesherton. We look forward to restoring
this historic property to it's original splendour. Once known as
Checkmate Equestrian Centre, this property once hosted international 3
Day Events headed by Russell Smith who was inducted into the Eventing
Hall of Fame for his commitment to the Eventing Community. We are very
proud to be the new owners of this lovely farm. We can't wait for you
to share this property with us!
