Camps
Welcome to another great Summer Camp at McCowan Stables!
We will be offering Day Camp Programs during July and August. We look forward to providing a great Day Camp Program for boys and girls age 5-14.
Typical Day at Camp:
8:30-9:00 - Camper Drop Off
9:00 Camp Begins
9:00-10:00 AM - Stable Management
10:00 - 12:00 - Riding Lesson
12:00 - 12:45 - Lunch
12:45 - 1:45 - Outdoor Activities
1:45- 3:00 - Crafts
3:00 - 5:00 - Fun on Horseback
4:30 - 5:00 - Camper Pick Up
Stable Management: Learn how to care for horses in the stable. Campers will learn about nutrition, horse care and general stable management skills.
Riding Lessons: Our riding lessons are conducted in a safe outdoor or indoor ring (depending on the campers riding abilities and weather). Students will learn safety in the saddle and will be placed in groups of like riding ability.
Outdoor Activities: Campers will have some free time during the day to play outside. Some examples of the activities include: nature hikes, gardening and games.
Crafts: All our craft time is used to complete horsey type crafts with our Art Instructor.
Fun on Horseback: Students can spend this time riding bareback, playing games on horseback and simply just horsin' around!
Our most popular Amazing Race will return for 2011! Every Friday, Campers will enjoy working as a team to get through a maze of riding and horsemanship challenges presented to them along the way!
Spaces are limited. Registration forms must be received to reserve a particular week. There will be no exceptions.
